The program includes works by Mozart, Poulenc - and Rantala, who contributes an entertaining potpourri of Beethoven set pieces with “Best of Beethoven” (director: Jaakko Kuusisto). Iiro Rantala is a Finnish jazz pianist. He studied piano in the jazz department of Sibelius Academy and classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music. He is one of the best known Finnish jazz pianists, both in Finland and abroad.

Iiro Rantala was trained at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and is one of the few composers and pianists who venture credibly between the genres today. Iiro Rantala has been working with the Galatea Quartet, a classic string quartet from Switzerland, for a number of years, and they have, for example, already performed Wolfgang A. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 together.
